Batman is awesome. Seemed like all Superman did was act like a punching bag until the other members of the Justice League figured out what to do though.

Lol. Nice avy too, RPG.

Yeah, that's a little obvious I like that cover so I figured I'd make it my avy for a while.

Too early to explain that. Basically though, we go Geography, Social Studies, US History, then you take alot of other history classes. Usually don't really hit history till 6th grade though.

Ya, but not everyone knows it is Disturbeds Indestructible album.

Well, up until around 4th grade all we do is Geography and very basic US history. 5th grade we got a little more in depth with US history, 6th grade we did Ancient History (ancient Greeks, Romans, Chinese, etc) along with some geography. 7th and 8th grade was all US history, 7th grade we went up until around the Civil War, 8th grade we came up until (I think) the 2000 presidential election and 9/11. 9th is Modern World History for those who don't take honors that year. In my school the rest of it is chosen by the student. I took a basic Government and Economics class in 10th grade, though some kids chose to take AP European History. The only thing though is the Government/Economics classes are required to graduate, but you don't necessarily have to take them in 10th grade. This upcoming school year (11th grade for me) I'm taking US history (which is required to graduate) and in 12th grade I think I just have to pick a history elective or I can decide to not do history/social studies at all.

every state has different rules about their curriculum.... and if you go to say a public school you will get a different one from a parochial one....there is no standard in the usa....that being said, there are a certain amount of things that need to be covered by these different ones before you are done....like taking the us constitution test (we did that in 7th/8th grade and AGAIN in high school)...[had to also take the state one in 7/8 too]. High schools usually require a minimum of 2 years of history for graduation---usually broken up into us and world- one year each.
History thats taught in the elementary school level is pretty basic...only BIG facts (like 1776 the usa declared independence .....1860's civil war and Lincoln assassination etc....)....though I remember getting into the indians and such in 5th grade and before then its called 'social studies' which includes history and geography, a bit of ecomonics and other such stuff all balled into one very basic topic (like the indian and pilgrims first thanksgiving)....

It also matters WHEN you were in school----me we never got to the cuban missile crisis or watergate (ooops that was current we never did current)....and the high school I had the misfortune to attend had a year of geography added in as well (we studied one semester of china and another one of russia-BEFORE the break up since that had not happened yet )....

mattresses....have no idea what makes that so expensive....I dont plan on paying more than my last car payment for one (and I paid that car off 2 years ago!).....so none of them cadalacs of mattresses....me will take that ford one over there

Ahhhhhhhhhh no more talk of school. It's summer. Speaking of which... work tomorrow... >.> Oh well... I guess...

Mattresses... yes a fun subject...

So Spain is the first group winner to advance. Beat Italy in PK's 4-2.

too bad Batman rarely joins up with other people besides his numerous kid sidekicks. I like batman better when he is alone, having robin around ruins his badassness.

Superman used to be cool in my book, but one tiny piece kryptonite can bring him down. I dont know why everyone is having a hard time killing him, just make a bullet out of some kryptonite and watch superman die. Plus I dislike his costume, tight pajamas and tons of hair gel is not intimidating.

Batman and his kid sidekicks... Michael Jackson refrence?

Ya when Robin is around Batmans awesomeness level drops... quite sad really.

AH THEY TRIED THAT! Did that in Smallville. Because it takes time for the kryptonite to kill him he has time to get away or dig it out.

Do you like Spiderman? He wears tight pants.

Ya robin was kind of terrible, but whatever it works out. Batman had 3 robins, kinda creepy imo.

Spiderman has a mask so no one can figure out who is really is under there. Superman just wears hair gel and tights, anyone can put 2+2 together and find out clark kent = superman. (I find metropolis to be full of idots )

Never fully watched Smallville, saw it for a little while one time and seemed like a "one tree hill/ MTV drama" based loosely on a superhero. I found it boring.

Pwnd, it's Turkey vs Spain in the semifinals and Spain vs Russia.

I gotta say, Russia is doing awesome, Guus Hiddink is an awesome coach/trainer he also made South Korea go far a few years back, he also made Australia make the World cup when they hadn't been in 32 years, he must be awesome.

so went back and picked a new mattress out....will get it next saturday (when I can clean a path to my bedroom and have the hubby maneuver it with me)....paid more than I wanted to, but hope it will last longer than the last one---and that it has better support since my back is pretty sore (and I am not really looking forward to going back to sleep since its so uncomfortable ...)

what sport are we discussing this week???? peanut tossing??

I find football, baseball, basketball, and Golf, all is americans sport.

Baseball is just boring, Basketball is to many goals, like handball, Football is rarely exciting (commercials every break???! come on) and Golf is good for getting some sleep.

YEs, i mieesed some guy.
